Avoid Stress

As any doctor will tell you, stress is a leading cause of weaker hair.  Negative emotions hamper the absorption of copper, one of three elements essential to healthy hair.  Under stress, hair tends to lose its color and turn grey.


Major psychological trauma simply halts new growth and speeds up the death of old cells.  In a state of stress, we instinctively tense back, shoulder, and neck muscles, reducing the blood flow to the scalp and thus depriving hair bulbs of necessary nutrients.  Therefore, we should massage not just the scalp but the shoulders and neck as well.


If you live a stressful life, make sure your diet includes foods rich in copper, such as whole grain bread, garlic, tomatoes, and potatoes.
