Naomi Campbell to guest star in Ugly Betty

Naomi Campbell, the catwalk queen will appear be in the last episode of the US TV show Ugly Betty.
The 37-year-old model was due to appear as a guest star last year but for reasons unknown, that casting coup never materialized. She was again tapped to appear earlier this year, but the writer’s strike derailed those plans.

Actress Becki Newton - who plays receptionist Amanda Sommers - said: "She's going to be in our last episode, which is exciting. I've personally requested that I don't stand next to her because Amanda would not like to be seen with such a tall, pretty person."

Victoria Beckham made a guest appearance playing Wilhelmina Slater's bridesmaid and was very well liked by all the cast.

On April 3, 2008, Naomi Campbell was arrested inside Heathrow’s Terminal 5, after boarding a British Airways flight where one of her bags got lost. According to a later police statement, the supermodel was held on suspicion of assaulting a policeman. The Sun reported that Naomi was screaming “Get off me, leave me alone,” and then she spit one of the officers.

Naomi Campbell was discovered in a London shopping mall at age 15 and become one of the A-list models of the 1990s. After making her first cover appearance on the British edition of Elle, she went on to pose for Vogue, Sports Illustrated, GQ and many other magazines.

(According to her official biography, "Naomi was the first black model to appear on the covers of Time magazine, and French and British Vogue.") Campbell is known as an aggressive and effective marketer of her own brand; among other ventures, she released her own perfume and cosmetics lines and co-wrote the 1997 novel Swan.
