Antonio Banderas' new fragrance for women is to help boost charity coffers in New York. One dollar from the sale of every Blue Seduction for Women bottle this Christmas (08) will go to the charity Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Antonio launched the new perfume -- his first-ever for the ladies -- with wife Melanie Griffith at a party that featured a special performance by cast members of In The Heights and children affiliated with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which has formed a partnership with the Latin heartthrob.
The Spanish movie star says, "I'm proud to partner with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, who supports many organizations for children and at-risk youth with educational programmers, as well as social service programs for people affected by HIV/AIDS".
Banderas known for his charisma and smoldering good looks, he is the ultimate manifestation of the Latin heartthrob. Born in M?laga, Spain on August 10, 1960, Banderas wanted to become a professional soccer player until a broken foot sidelined his dreams at the age of fourteen.
He went on to enroll in some drama classes, eventually joining a theatre troupe that toured all over Spain. His work in the theatre, and his performances on the streets, eventually landed him a spot with the National Theatre of Spain.
