James Cameron defies California's fires!
James Cameron is not giving in to fear! The director of "Titanic", "Terminator", "Avatar" and other catastrophe films has spent a small fortune on protecting his Malibu villa from the fires that regularly ravage that part of California. He has transformed his property into a totally fireproof area by building his own water pump and stocking up on fire-fighting foam. He has also bought a fire engine, which he keeps permanently stationed in his car park! The director hopes that this will enable him to confront the next fire without having to escape his beloved home, as happened in 2007.
James Cameron evoked the spectre of California's fires passionately and poetically: "When these hills light up with a hundred-foot-tall wall of flames coming over the top of the hill there, you feel like it's Armageddon."
