Anthony Hopkins, an actor worthy of the gods!

Things are moving forward for "Thor", the cinema adaptation of the Marvel comics. Having previously asked his good friend the English actor Brian Blessed ("Alexander", "As You Like It"), director Kenneth Branagh has finally decided to cast Anthony Hopkins in the role of Odin. The villain from "Silence of the Lambs" will therefore slide into the skin of the principal god from the Nordic pantheon. Paramount expects to release the film on 20th May 2011.

Anthony Hopkins joins Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) in a cast that has been prone to much speculation. Robert De Niro and Jude Law are also expected to appear, but so far that information is only based on rumours...
