Angham declines Mechano, sings to Sherei's music

Angham

Angham has officially declined a leading role in her long-awaited debut-to-be Mechano, which was also supposed to co-star Sherif Mounir.

Angham’s eventual withdrawal was reportedly due to her being busy preparing, simultaneously, for her next two albums, among other artistic involvements.

It is noteworthy that beside her ‘canonical’ discography (with lyrics in Egyptian dialect), Angham used to spin off a series of Gulf music albums—mainly distributed locally in the Arabian Gulf states.

Having already made it to the theatre in two plays, this is the third failed attempt by Angham to start a film acting career, following many inconvenient circumstances that had precluded her in the past from playing leads in Sahar el Layali (Sleepless Nights) and ‘An el ‘Eshq wel Hawa (Of Love and Infatuation)—both of which went to Mona Zaki.

Angham is currently holding sessions with the renowned composer/musician Ammar el Shere’i working on her upcoming album.

Also, Angham’s official website is to be launched soon, featuring a gallery for her newest photos, and sections for her news, press interviews, a fan forum, samples from her latest album Koll Ma N’arrab Le Ba’d (The Closer We Get to Each Other), and a biographical review written and dedicated to the website by the well-known critic Kamal el Negmi, titled “A Queen’s Career” (in Arabic).
