Amy Winehouse cancels her upcoming concerts

Amy Winehouse called off all her concerts for the remainder of 2007after being hospitalized suffering from emotional stress and severe exhaustion.

"The rigors involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll," said Winehouse representative Tracey Miller in a statement Tuesday.

"In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues."

Thousands of fans with tickets to see the 24-year-old diva at venues in England, Wales and Ireland were left disappointed by Amy’s decision.

Her family asked the media to "respect Amy's privacy at this time.” her mother spoke out to the public, “Amy’s got to take the opportunity of getting herself fitter and stronger,” Janis Winehouse said.

“She thinks she’s strong but she isn’t. I hope she uses the chance to fully recover. I hope she will take it easy for a while and then get back to writing new material. She has got to get herself clean. It is a matter of her personal survival.”

Winehouse’s grieving over her 25-year old husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who still held in custody in London on charges of assaulting a bartender in June.
"I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows halfheartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him; it's just not the same." Says the Rehab singer.

She had been due to play at the BIC in Bournemouth later and the Cardiff International Arena on Wednesday.

Gigs were also planned in December in Dublin, Belfast, Manchester and London, and all tickets will now be refunded.

The troubled pop-soul singer always gets attention from music critics and gossip journalists alike who seem to focus on her rowdy behavior and heavy consumption of alcohol.

On the sober side of Amy, she was awarded with two prizes at the Music of Black Origin (Mobo) in London, she was also named best female singer at the Brit Awards.
