Lebanese fight over Adaweya’s legacy
A battle is being fought for covering songs of the Egyptian legendary pop singer, Ahmed Adaweya. The scramble is exclusively Lebanese as it started with Dominique Hourani who approached Adaweya for a duet cover of his late 1970's greatest hit "El Sah El Dah Embo", but her offer was turned down.
Adaweya was quoted to say that Hourani was found unfit —she has a totally different way, her voice is not in accord with his', and that her record is scanty. Allegedly, out of embarrassment, Hourani appeared on TV dismissing that she even talked to Adaweya over such a duet, and criticized what she called a "media war" waged against her by Mrs.Adaweya -Lucie- who's also Adaweya’s manager.
On the other hand, Rami Ayyash revealed he will be making a duet with Adawaya titled "El Nass El Rayqa", which will be mixing his own style in "Ya Habibi Albi Mal" and Adaweya's "Bint El Sultan".
And third cometh Vivia Azar, who made a fanciful announcement that she was bestowed an all-inclusive waiver for Adaweya’s complete discography from the Egyptian Lyricists and Composers Association.
